Final Au Pair Goodbyes!
After her vacation month Lovis came back to our house to say a final goodbye to the kids and adults! Her mom came with after they did a massive West coast road trip through Vegas, California, the Grand Canyon and a number of other tourist destinations and hikes. We would occasionally get updates and photos of their awesome adventures, which looked warm in comparison to our weather in Pittsburgh!
They arrived and settled into the guest room up stairs, our third floor was full of welcomed European guests representing Austria and Germany. Lovis' big project was attempting to fit all of her stuff into just a few pieces of luggage. That' is the difficulty about living somewhere for a year - it's natural to accumulate clothes and other items over the year, but it becomes very difficult to pack it back into the same piece of luggage! They did it though! (without a pound to spare)
That week they went outlet shopping and I took the boys for a quick trip to the zoo for the Penguin march (which is the cutest thing on earth!). They got to hang out with the boys during the day while I was at work, and we enjoyed large family dinners together in the evenings. It was great to have the house full, I love when we have visitors.
On our last evening together we went out to eat in Mount Washington - an amazing place to grab a bite to eat with an epic view. The night started cloudy, but it cleared up enough to bless us with an amazing view of downtown - and we got a window seat... because we were the only souls in the restaurant.
